We learned last night that two factors are the proximate causes for wisdom to arise, namely, wise consideration, (yoniso manasikara), and concentration. This talk further examines the factors which contribute to the arising of wisdom.
After laying down the scriptural foundations for this talk, Sayadaw explains that mindfulness does not occur alone: it has companions, namely, ardent effort & clear comprehension, as well as concentration.
After illustrating the importance of wisdom by relating a Jataka tale, Sayadaw spoke about the Buddha, the practice of satipatthana for the development of intuitive wisdom.
