This talk on spiritual urgency is intended to inspire, encourage and clearly support the yogis' practice while furthering their understanding of wisdom.
This talk introduces the seven Enlightenment Factors, (bojjhangas), and gives an explanation of the enlightenment factor of Investigation of States, Dhamma Vicaya Sambojjhanga.
Sayadaw first discusses the four modes of practice and then explains how the development of intuitive wisdom functions to purify the yogi's view, perception and mind.
Sayadaw discusses the gradual nature of the development of wisdom, beginning with a description of physical and mental "symptoms" which can coincide with specific stages of knowledge. Wisdom unfolds gradually and systematically. When conditions are complete, then realization occurs suddenly.
After recapping the previous day's discussion of factors which promote wisdom, Sayadaw illuminted the way that wisdom knows, by comparing it with perception and conciousness, which also have the quality of understanding, and how wisdom unfolds in the early days of one's practice.
